Certified Divers
Playa del Carmen Reef Dives
Local reef dives are the easiest way for certified divers to get in the water from Playa del Carmen. You stay close to town, avoid a full travel day, and still get warm Caribbean water, boat diving and the chance to see reef life right off the coast.
Morning, Afternoon or Night
Morning reef dives are better suited for experienced divers, divers with a solid number of logged dives, and people who have been diving recently. Afternoon dives are usually the better choice if you are newly certified, very beginner, or have not been diving for a while.
Typical local dive schedules are 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for morning dives and 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for afternoon dives.
The night dive is a separate one-tank experience and should stay as a specialty-style option. Night dives are not frequent, require a minimum group of 4 people unless booked privately, and should be requested by email or WhatsApp.
If it has been a long time since your last dive, ask about doing a Scuba Review before joining regular reef dives.
